We did not do the roof pictured below. I am only noting the unsightly black staining on the chimney. This is caused by water constantly running down the brick, being on the North East side of the house it gets very limited sunshine, encouraging Blue green algae growth. I have several more pictures of older roofs with similar situations. This problem will persist even with a beautiful new roof, unless something differant is done. We do Crickets behind chimneys like this so that all the water stays on the roof, till it reaches the eaves. You can see it from the ground level, but it is still much better astetically.





Yes, old fascia could use a little cleaning, but they had a lot of water from that chimney cap dumping into the corner, and we were able to resolve that issue. They did not clean off the chimney as of yet, but no worries after they do.
